TastingBuddy® Privacy Policy

TastingBuddy® takes your privacy seriously. Please read the following privacy policy to understand more about how we collect, use, hold and protect your data.

Collection of Personal Data

This policy covers any data we collect from visitors and registered users of the TastingBuddy® website which could be used to identify an individual ("personal data"). This will include information that we ask you to provide upon registration - such as your name, address, date of birth, gender - data we require in order to provide our services to you, and also information that is collected from you when you visit our site, such as the unique IP number from the computer you use to access our site. We collect data in various ways using forms which you complete and automatically retaining data as you move around the site.

Use of Personal Data

TastingBuddy® will use your personal data in order to provide our services to you and fulfil your requests for products and/or further services. In addition, we will also use your information to contact you about special offers, other similar services and products that may be of interest to you and in order to gather your feedback from time to time in order to improve our services. You may request that we stop using your personal data for any or all of these uses by contacting us using the details below. If at anytime you withdraw your consent for us to use the data we hold about you it may prevent you using the site and the services we offer properly.

Disclosing your details to other Parties

Aside from the circumstances stated below, TastingBuddy® will not pass your personal data onto any other party without first obtaining your specific consent to such disclosure. In the following circumstances TastingBuddy® may disclose your information.

  • We have your explicit consent to share your personal data;
  • We are required to disclose the data in order for us or companies who work on our behalf to provide any product or service that you request;
  • We are legally compelled to disclose your information to governmental authorities (something that we will inform you of, unless we are prevented from doing so);
  • TastingBuddy® is acquired by or merged with another business organisation.
Retention of your data

We retain all data collected from you whilst you continue to use our services. If you cease using our services we will continue to hold your personal details for 2 years. You may request that we remove your data from our records at any time, although this will affect your use of the services we offer.

All personal data is protected from unauthorised access by strict physical, electronic and managerial systems and procedures that meet the standards for protection required by data protection law.

Access to your personal data

It is your responsibility to ensure that any personal data you have submitted to us is accurate and kept up to date. TastingBuddy® gives you the ability to edit your profile and the information that you have submitted during the registration process.

Under data protection legislation you also have the right to request copies of the information we hold about you for a small administration fee of £10. If you would like to request copies of our information please contact us. If you feel that any data we hold, handle or use is causing you damage or distress or if you have any other complaints please contact us and we will endeavour to rectify the situation.

Changes to this policy

TastingBuddy® may amend this policy from time to time. Although we will endeavour to post prominent announcements on the website to alert you of any substantial changes, it is your responsibility to regularly check this policy for any changes.

The TastingBuddy® website contains links to external websites that may be of interest to you, but that are outside our control, including links to unrelated sites that advertise on our website. We cannot and do not make any guarantees that these links will work all of the time or that the content will be as expected.
